Momentum Upward

It has been a little over a year since I began performing as an aerial artist. It has taken most of my spare time and energy, but has been worth all the effort. Yoga gave me the strength and the wellbeing to follow my heart and aerial arts continue to full my passion. My whole life I have been making excuses for why I wasn’t getting on stage; too big, not properly trained, not good enough, too old….no more….I have been having such a good time! I would have laughed my head off if someone told me two years ago that at 39 years old I would be starting my first official performance year. Well, truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. It is hard to feel down when you get spend so much time up in the air! I am so proud to be performing with the Red Light Variety Show and hope to continue to get on stage in some capacity till the day I leave this world.

The next Red Light Variety Show opens next week! For all of you Boise friends that plan to attend please hang around after the show and give us all a big hug.

Pole-a-polooza 2012

I had a ton of fun this year performing with my friends at Ophidia Studio.  If you didn’t get to make it, I have provided links to the two numbers I was in.  Hope you can make it to Winter Showcase in December!

There is a fifth dimension…

… beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition.

~ Rod Sterling (Producer, Host and Writer, for The Twilight Zone, 1924-1975)

Saturday, May 28th was opening night for the Red Light Variety Show of The Twilight Zone.  It is a must see for anyone into the movement arts.  It is tons of fun.  The performers not only were skilled, but were obviously having a blast.  This energy swept over the audience and drew us in.  Tickets are only $10 in advance or $12 at the door.  It is held at the Visual Arts Collective, which is just minutes of downtown with tons of parking.  Three more showings in June, don’t miss it!

Esalen is Connected

I didn’t think I would have the ability to blog while at Esalen…..but it looks like everyone is connected now. No cellphone access, but free internet! I have a few extra minutes….since I last talked with you a ton has happened:

  • Accidentally shorted the taxi driver! I ment to give him a tip, but instead shorted him $1.50!
  • Monterey felt so cold I had to go by boots. Can you believe it I leave snow and single digit temperatures to come to sunny California and freeze my backside off. The sun is shining bright, but the sea breezes just zap the heat away.
  • Two homeless gentleman recited eloquent poetry for me after I gave them my quarters. They almost brought me to tears they were so charming. If I see them in the same spot next weekend I plan to try to write down their poems to share.
  • Hwy 1 made me so car sick, but the beauty and the final destination made it worth it.

Here I am at Esalen in front of a computer. I know, I know…get into the hot springs, eat yummy homemade food and take a yoga class. Already have! I have been here about 12 hours and have already done all of the above things plus danced into the night, slept like a baby and journaled a ton. I will post again soon. Nameste.
