Breathing in Alaska

We went camping this weekend.  The island is not that big, but it took us several hours to find a campsite. The weather was sunny and warm…so guess what…the whole island was out camping!  We finally found a spot and it was amazing.

I promised to talk some more about the Importance of Breath.  Days have slipped by, so I will add something short now and revisit the topic many times in the future.

Why and how can breath make a dramatic impact in one’s life?  Breathing techniques can increase oxygen in the blood, raise and lower blood pressure, promote relaxation, increase energy, increase clarity of thinking and so much more.  As stated by Alexander Lowen, “…The inability to breath normally is the main obstacle to the recovery of emotional health.” Even a basic breathing technique, such as diaphragmatic breathing, can aid in processing emotions and instilling a sense of calm alertness.

Focus your attention on your breath just a couple times a day and you will see dramatic effects…I guarantee it! Best wishes to all my fellow yogis, Nameste.
